PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Cambodia has announced that his 21st grandchild who is 2 years old has been infected with Covid-19, as he launches a Covid-19 vaccination campaign for children aged 3 to 5 and calls on parents to bring all their children to get vaccinated.

In today's special message, Prime Minister stated: "The reason for this decision is due to the observation that Omicron start spreading in our country, about 20% of children under 5 years of age has infected with this disease. Honestly, even my 21st grandchild, who was just two years old, was also infected."

Concerned about the impact on public health, Prime Minister ordered the Vaccination Commission and the authorities to coordinate the campaign as soon as possible and for the safety of children.
